The Dorset Cricket Centre is run and administered by the Christchurch Community Leisure Association Ltd. (CCLA), which is an Industrial and Provident Society (IPS).

An IPS is a non-profit making organisation that may conduct an industry, business or trade, either as a co-operative or for the benefit of the community, and is registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965. Any surplus of revenue over expenditure has to be ploughed back into the Society.

The CCLA was established for the benefit of the community in 1991 to provide recreational facilities for local residents. Although the CCLA has from time to time been considered for the running of other sports venues in Christchurch, the Cricket Centre, which was built in 1994, is the only one currently run by the CCLA.

10 years ago the CCLA established “The Dorset Cricket Society” (D.C.S.) which is a sub-committee of the CCLA. The Society holds weekly meetings during the winter at the club next door to the cricket centre.

The CCLA has a Board of Management that meets twice per year, and day to day running of the Centre is delegated to a management group consisting of some Board members, the Secretary and the administration staff of the centre.
